Move in day!

Well the day had finally come and it wasn't very nice to me. I had to scrap my window that morning and it was freezing cold. Thankfully my sister was prepared with a nice little scraper for me.

Our new house:)

Jay was still driving cross country so I had to do the move by myself. Thankfully my sister was able to come with me to help out. She was in charge of marking off all the boxes that came in. Thanks sis you were a huge help:)

So happy my china hutch made it in one piece:)

My mom and I got the fun task of flying the kids to DC while my Dad and Jay drove the car with the dogs. All I can say is that I am glad it is over and I am not looking forward to it again. My mom and I both had a suitcase plus a carry-on and then we each had a carseat on our back. I had Addison in a stroller and then the plan was for Talen to push his own suitcase...yeah right! He didn't want anything to do with pushing or helping with anything. With some muscle and a little sweat we somehow made it to the airport on the shuttle. When we got there we were waiting in the security line and I put Talen's suitcase up against the stroller and Addison grabbed the handle. When I went to push the stroller she held on to the suitcase and it just rolled along the side of the stroller...woohoo! She held on to it the whole way to the gate!! I don't know how we would've made it if she hadn't helped out. It was so funny watching people giggle as we strolled by with our load of stuff as my 1 year old pulled her suitcase. I am laughing right now thinking about it...lol!

Christmas Night

We were able to spend Christmas night with Jay's family this year. We had a great dinner and had a fun time playing our special White Elephant game. It was so good to see everyone and will miss seeing them next year:(

We were officially moved out of our house and moved in with my parents. It was nice we were able to spend Christmas with them and not in a hotel somewhere. Talen had so much fun doing the advent calendar this year. He was so excited to turn over baby Jesus Christmas morning. I remember growing up it was always a fight on who got to turn over baby Jesus. I am so excited to start this tradition with my family:)

Growing up the last present we opened always had a clue inside. We would run around the house trying to find the next clue to eventually find the big surprise! I will always remember those fun memories and wanted that for my kids. Talen was finally old enough to do it this year and we had so much fun! Bell left Talen one last gift for being such a good boy this year:)

Talen loves to sprinkle the food out every year for the reindeer. He is finally at the age where he is getting the whole meaning of Christmas. It was fun watching him get excited like I did when I was his age.

Monterey/San Francisco

Jay and one of his best friends from high school try to go to a 49ers game every year. We decided to make a trip out of it so the wives and kids came along. We stopped in Monterey for a day to check out the Aquarium.

Well this is officially my first move in my life. I had no idea what I was in for but I don't want to do this again for a while. It was a lot of work and I am glad it is over.

I remember growing up thinking my Grandpa looked just like Jean Claude Van Damme. He was tall and handsome and just had this look about him. I can picture him sitting at the table reading his newspaper while eating breakfast like it was yesterday. I will always remember him singing me Two Little Birds while using his fingers to act out the birds flying away. He was such a wonderful man and cared about helping others. We love you grandpa and miss you very much.

Well today marks the day we officially started packing for the big move. I can't believe it is finally here it just seemed like yesterday that I was saying I have a year to get things ready. Well it is here and I haven't done a thing to prepare for it...lol! I guess thats why you have someone do it for you. Look out DC here we come!!!!!

Well most of you know by now that we are getting transferred to DC. We are excited for our new adventure but, I don't get to decorate for Christmas this year because they are packing us up before Christmas:( Thankfully my mom brought over a little something to keep my spirit up. This is the advent calendar I grew up with and always fought with my brother and sister who got to turn over baby Jesus on Christmas Day. Talen is having so much fun getting to turn a new one over everyday. It brings back such great memories:) Thanks mom!

My parents took a trip to Cabo and loved it so much they said we had to go. We loved the low key family style of it all. We would definitely go back in the future.

Welcome Home Daddy!

Talen was so excited to finally pick up his Daddy after a long 7 months. He got to come home 2 weeks early because he has an interview the week of the homecoming. The second he saw his Daddy he hasn't let him out of his site. Addison wasn't so sure at first but she has warmed up to him now. We are so proud of you and so glad you are home safe Daddy!

Trip to Phoenix

We had such a great time hanging out with the family for a week. We got to do lots of fun little activities while we were there. Talen loved hanging out with his cousins and getting to spend hours in the pool.

I took Talen to a friends Birthday party and they had this water slide. Talen loved it so much that he wouldn't stop playing on it. When it came time to eat they literally had to deflate it so that he couldn't ride it anymore...lol!

I haven't been to the fair in like 15 years. My mom talked me into taking Talen and I am glad she did because we had a great time. We got our unlimited wrist passes for the rides and headed for a evening of fun:)

We went to our Squadron party for the kids to celebrate half-way! We had a great time until right at the end when Talen got stung by a bee 3 times on his foot...ugh! I didn't realize it until the next morning when he said his foot hurt. I took off his sock and it was all red and swollen:( Thank goodness for candy and calamine lotion to make it better.

Carlsbad

My parents got their time share for a week at the beach and invited us to come. We thought it would be a little warmer but we still had a great time. Talen had so much fun and loved when the waves came in as though they were chasing him. He and my mom could've camped out on the beach all week and never left.

We found the neatest tent that pops up in 2 seconds. It came in very handy to block the wind and help keep us warm.

Talen swam everyday at the resort. He is getting more confident swimming by himself but now if I could only get that noodle away.

For those of you who don't know my mom she LOVES flowers. We saw this flower field one day driving by, so of course, we had to go check it out.

Addison was excited to ride the tractor but Dad on the other hand...

It was very interesting watching them cut and bag all the flower to sell. They did it so fast they must have done it a million times.

Our neighbor's have an Easter party every year so I took the kids. Talen loved all the fun games and was so excited for the egg hunt.

They hid an egg in his Thomas boot...lol!

Thanks to my mom today for helping me try to get pictures of the kids. As you will see it was quite an episode today. The first two pictures crack me up though their faces tell it all...lol! At least we got a few laughs out of it:)

Addison wasn't happy so my mom gave her Talen's jelly beans and he was not happy.

That is the saddest lip I have ever seen.

Talen had so much fun dying his Easter eggs this year. He loved dropping the eggs in the dye and seeing what color they came out. He did much better this year not spilling the dye...yay!
